Use your common sense!

Sometimes as an educator, I field questions regarding the literary merits of books. What should we read? Why should we read it? Would it be appropriate for me/ my child?

I recently found a great resource Common Sense Media . They are non-partisan, review books, determine what age the text is appropriate for,  discuss the literary and moral merits of the text,  and review for sex/drugs/alcohol/violence (if any).

I could see this being helpful to teachers teaching a new text, parents who want to see what a game/book/movie is all about, or students trying to choose something appropriate for themselves.
