Two Shimmering Ravens In Situ

Feathers like slivers of glinting glass scattered across frozen asphalt in the moonlight, you dazzling creatures flying to the edge of the world’s memory, to the edge of civilization, to the last thread of forest that the weavers have woven just for you.

You sit on a high grey naked bough, harsh calls of gravel against sandpaper call me out of myself, free at the foot of the frozen tree trying to remember how to reach you–if only I could grasp one of your golden black bodies.

Golden lust melts to mindfulness human flesh falls from bone, opens, unzips into eternity de-enveloping developing. I fly up to, thoughtfully, mindfully, meet my brethren on that grey naked bough in that last thread of forest the weavers have woven just for us.
